Sindh Assembly pays rich tributes to Malala Yousufzai

The Sindh Assembly on Wednesday paid rich tributes to Malala Yousufzai, a 14-year-old girl from Swat, for her brave role in spreading education in the face of harshest opposition by the Taliban in Malakand division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Sindh Information Minister Shazia Mari tabled a motion in the house, which received huge support from the provincial legislators, as all prised Malala for playing a pivotal role in spreading female education in Swat despite the Taliban razed hundreds of schools in the valley.
Shazia Mari said her father had played a significant role to boost her confidence in her mission to accomplish her goal despite the tyrannical opposition of the Taliban in the valley. She said Malala won the peace prize for her endeavour and the award had already been named after her.
Extolling her, Mari said the efforts of Malala were the true face of Pakistan, saying the whole nation was truly proud of her. She also requested the Speaker Sindh Assembly to send copies of the motion to the assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its government. Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq announced Rs 0.5 million prize to Malala on behalf of his department and urged the citizens of the province to come up with such a role to spread education.
On the call of Ahmad Ali Shah, the minister also announced to name a girls school in the province after Malala Yousufzai to remind her struggle for education. A female lawmaker, Naheed Begum said her confidence to withdraw her aim of becoming a doctor and choosing politics to fight for the rights of downtrodden people of the society was exceptional. She said her courage defied the Taliban opposition who destroyed many schools in the Swat valley.
Sadiq Memon called her a "true face" of Pakistan, saying the nation was resilient against the tyrannies. Sussi Palijo said Malala was a soft image of Pakistan. Noreen Majeed said Taliban had destroyed about 250 girls' schools in the valley and Malala's fight was a brave act in the face of aggression. Humera Alwani said if Malala wanted to enter politics, she would be welcomed by PPP and invited her to join her party.
