PEC elections challenged in LHC

A petition has been filed before the Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging elections of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) held on December 18, last. The petitioner Engineer Javed Saleem Qureshi who contested elections for the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Chairman alleged rigging and other irregularities during the election process.
He said the whole exercise of elections was based on mala fide and just for election of candidate to be elected from choice and genuine voters were technically restrained from exercising their right of vote. He, therefore, prayed to the court to declare the elections void and ordered for fresh elections under independent election committee.
