Negligent private security agencies: licenses to be cancelled, says Wassan
Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan on Saturday said that the licenses of those private security agencies found to be negligent towards their duties would be cancelled, adding that the agencies should deploy capable guards, while their complete information including NIC number and residential address should be verified.
He was presiding over a high-level meeting in his office with the representatives All Pakistan Security Agencies Association (APSAA). The recent spree of crime in Karachi was discussed with the officials. Manzoor Wassan while expressing his concern said that despite the betterment of law and order situation in the metropolis, the increase in crimes is a concerning moment.
He said that Rs 70 million were looted in 19 bank robberies in Karachi is leaving bad impact of Pakistan in the world, adding that huge responsibility lies on the shoulders of bank guards to prevent such incidents. It was also decided during the meeting that monitor be ensured in bank through CCTV Cameras, where biometrics gates be installed as well.
A bunker must also be built for security guard from where he can monitor the situation He further said that he has already given orders to police regarding the tightening of security, while measures are being taken to control the crimes in the city.
