'Only competent teachers to be regularised'

Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq on Friday said that only competent teachers would be regularised and a draft in this connection had been sent to Sindh Law Department for its legal review. Replying to a question of PML-F's legislator, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi, during the Sindh Assembly session, the minister said that the Sindh Chief Minister had approved the summary in this regard and the Sindh Law Department was reviewing the draft.
He, however, made it clear that only competent teachers would be regularised and the education department would sack those who were found involved in anti-educational activities. He said that the department was going to appoint some 14,000 more teachers shortly. The minister informed that the department would monitor the work of teachers for three years before regularising them. "Only those teachers would be regularised whose performance meets the standards," Pir Mazhar pointed out.
