It is the endeavour of the elected government to provide jobs to the unemployed youth of the country under the party's programme and President of Pakistan and Co-chairman PPP, Asif Ali Zardari, had directed to take effective measures in this regard. This was stated by Chief Minister Sindh and President PPP Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah while addressing CNG Rickshaw distribution ceremony at CM's House, here on Monday.
Qaim Ali Shah said that this distribution process is being started from Lyari, which is not only the centre of PPP but also the residents of the area had made sacrifices for restoration of democracy in the country. He added that at present 30 rickshaws are being given but more rickshaws will be distributed in Lyari and other vicinities of Karachi.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah maintained that PPP is the party of poor, labour, peasants, youth and middle class and had always struggled for the progress, prosperity and development of deprived areas and people. He added that Lyari people are followers of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and brothers of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who were deprived from their basic rights and facilities in the period of past regimes.
The CM said that an amount of Rs 800 million had already been spent during last year for construction of roads, provision of lights, clean drinking water and other amenities, while this year also Rs 800 million have been allocated and work is in progress.

He said that Lyari University has been established for which land has been provided while another Medical University for Lyari is also being established. Syed Qaim Ali Shah further said that many projects worth billions of rupees are being implemented only in Lyari.
He added that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in her tenure as the premier provided basic facilities, jobs and houses for poor. He said that `employment for all' is the first item of manifesto and concerted efforts are being made to do the needful, as this year is `Year of Development' and it is hoped that there will be betterment of general poor people. Qaim Ali Shah added that `we will come to the expectations of people and will fulfil the dreams of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto'.
Earlier, Senator Faisal Raza Abidi, President PPP Karachi Division, in his speech said that previous non-PPP regimes had always neglected the people of Lyari but they are surprised about efforts of present government for the development of Lyari. He added that people of Lyari are lovers of Pakistan, who being the old citizens, had always sacrificed for the rights of the people. He said that Lyari people had struggled with Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, co-operated with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and will fully endorse their energies and support for Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
President PPP District South Karachi, Khalil, said that people of Lyari had always voiced slogan of `Jeay Bhutto' and will continue their solidarity and support to the party.
