ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (R) Javed Iqbal on Wednesday took notice of corruption and embezzlement in the construction and expansion of Kachhi Canal project.
He ordered inquiry into escalation of construction cost from estimated Rs 30 billion to Rs 210 billion due to corrupt practices, said a press release issued here.
The chairman also directed holding of inquiry against Director General Public Relations, Officers of Information and Culture Department Punjab for misusing their authority and causing millions of rupees loss to national exchequer.
