Bullish sentiments prevail on LSE

Bullish sentiments prevailed on the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) and the equities registered gains amid descending transaction volume on account of cautious approach of the investors ahead of weekend. The LSE-25 index was increased by 9.17 points and ended at 2907.77 points against 2898.60 points of Thursday, while trading turnover was restricted to 650,980 shares, compared with 1.099 million shares traded a day earlier.
The market was opened on a healthy sign and kept on moving up during both the trading sessions. However, the investors showed reluctance in taking positions that resulted in low trading activity. Fauji Fertiliser, Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Fatima Fertiliser, OGDC, MCB Bank, Allied Bank, Nishat Chunian, Lotte Pakistan PTA, and Nimir Industrial Chemical registered gains, while Engro Corporation, Pakistan Oil Fields, Attock Refinery, PPL, Nishat Mills, National Bank, Pakgen Power, D.G. Khan Cement, Fauji Cement and Byco Petroleum were ended in negative zone.
The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 97 active issues, 17 companies registered gains, 10 went down, while 70 companies stayed glued to their previous closing. OGDC gained Rs 4.10, Fauji Fertiliser was appreciated by Rs 3.19, MCB Bank was improved by Rs 1.37, while Allied Bank was up by 97-paisa.
In the minus column, Engro Corporation lost Rs 5.91, Pakistan Oil Fields was declined by Rs 4.59, while Attock Refinery and PPL were down by 98-paisa and 92-paisa, respectively. Bank of Punjab with trading of 148,625 shares topped the volume leaders, while Fatima Fertiliser stayed runner up with 92,150 shares.
