Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 4,040 tonnes of cargo comprising 2,040 tonnes of import cargo and 2,000 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo comprised of 2,040 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export comprised of 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eleven ships namely APL Zircon, MOL Bravery, Hyundai Highness, Al-Ihsaa, Chemroad Quest, Oriental Protea, Golden Express, Tao Brave, Ioanthi, Sea Rise and Cartagena carrying four container ships, three ethanol ships, two general cargo ships, one coal carrier and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels viz Maricta Bolten, Viona, Cooper River Bridge, APL Brisbane, Oriental Protea, Golden Express and Eastern Chemi Marina carrying four container ships and three oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Marcampania, Maistros and Fu Yuan Shan with one container ship, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during last 48 hours, while three ship namely President Truman, Cooper River Bridge and Eastern Chemi with two container ships and one oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
Five ships namely Taban-1, Emirates Kabir, Teesa, Khorfakkan and Ocean Light with three container ships one chemicals carriers, one crude oil tanker, one crude oil tanker and one project cargo carrier respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while two vessels viz YM Fuzhou and Oriental Kerria carrying one container ship and one ehtanol ship respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 33,904 tonnes, comprising 21,783 tonnes of import cargo and 12,121 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,412 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 21,783 tonnes includes 9,900 tonnes of edible oil and 11,883 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 12,121 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely MV Al-Sabahia and CV Maersk Kingston sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely SC Haikou is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of five vessels CV Maersk Kingston, MV Al-Sabahia, Fisher-K, Ionian Sea and SC Haikou are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours. Five ships namely CV Henry, CGM Struss, MSC Jade, Chemroad Wing and Frauke with scheduled to load/offload containers, edible oil and general carg are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Henry, CV CGM Struss, CV MSC Jade, MT Chemroad Wing and MV Frauke carrying ontainers, edible oil and general carg ship respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Turminal (MW-3) and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
