Pakistan to boycott Bonn conference: Prime Minister summons joint parliament session

A Federal Cabinet meeting here on Tuesday, chaired by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, decided to boycott international conference in Bonn next week on the future of Afghanistan to protest against Nato's cross-border attack on a Pakistani border post in northern areas.
The Cabinet was apprised of decisions taken at a defence committee meeting recently. Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar briefed the meeting on her talks with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other foreign leaders. She also termed the gory incident a grave violation of international law. The Cabinet also decided to summon a joint session of the Parliament after the recommendations of Parliamentary Committee on National Security to discuss the Mohmand Agency incident.
The joint session will also discuss the controversial 'Memogate' affair. The Cabinet agreed that unilateral actions like Abbottabad incident and last Saturday's attack in Mohmand Agency were totally unacceptable. The Cabinet extended deepest condolences to the families of those who embraced shahdat (martyrdom) in 26/11 incident.
