LAHORE: An application has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) for stopping the sit-in, announced by Pakistan Awami Tehreek from January 17 and onward.
The civil miscellaneous application was filed by Advocate Ghulam Yaseen Bhatti through senior counsel AK Dogar in a pending petition.
The petitioner submitted that on January 15, a single bench of LHC had issued notices on his petition against the anti-govt drive, but a part of the petition regarding interim relief, remained unattended.
He submitted that the respondents had announced to launch their drive from January 17 and it was expected that they would hold sit-in at Mall Road from Wednesday.
He pleaded with the court to restrain the respondents from holding January 17 planned sit-in, besides stopping their anti-government drive.
