Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 153,822 tonnes of cargo including 74,952 tonnes of import; 78,870 tonnes of export cargo and 5,886 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 48 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 74,952 tonnes comprised of 23,155 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 14,814 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 10,522 tonnes of coal; 941 tonnes of wheat; 7,205 tonnes of rock phosphorus and 18,315 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 78,870 tonnes comprised of 37,413 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 1,209 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 6,284; 3,816 tonnes of cement; and 30,148 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo. There are nine vessels namely Emirates Yangyze, APL Sharjah, Parmis, YM Fuzhou, OEL Trust, Argentiris, M T Lahore, Bow Cardinal and Ginga Kite carrying containers and tankers respectively were sailed out to the sea during the reported period of 48 hours of business activities on Sunday/Monday.
A total number of twelve vessels namely Parmis, OEL Trust, MOL Wind, Y M America, Hyundai Confidence, Al Mirqab, Urubium, FU Yuan Shan, Torrens, Ginga Kite, Al Nouf and M T Karachi are currently occupying the berths at port to load/offload containerised cargo, coal, wheat, rock phosphorus, b bulk cargo and oil/liquid cargo respectively during the business hours.
There are four vessels namely Al Mirqab, MOL Wind, Torrens and Urubhum are expected to sail out to the sea on Monday, while some four more vessels namely Hyundai Confidence, M T Karachi, Al Nouf and Y M America are expected to sail out to the sea on Tuesday.
Three vessels namely Caribbean Sea, Abdul Latif S and SAL Sunrise carrying containers, cement and sulphur respectively are due to arrive on Monday, while there are five more vessels namely President Jackson, Greenwich Bridge, Kota Arif, Liberty Promise and Wo Long Song carrying containers, vehicles, and general cargo respectively are expected to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIMPort Qasim maintained port's activities of cargo volume of 88,559 tonnes including 83,765 tonnes of import; 4,794 tonnes of export cargo and the total 1,015loaded and empty containers (TEUs) are handled during the last 24 hours of business activity on Monday.
The total import cargo volume comprised of 83,765 tonnes including 7,550 tonnes of edible oil; 2,960 tonnes of chemicals; 6,232 tonnes of canola seeds; 1,007 tonnes of general cargo; 1,633 liquefied petroleum gas; 51,922 tonnes of diesel oil and 12,461 tonnes of containerised cargo were handled during the business activity hours of the port.
The total export cargo volume comprised of 4,794 tonnes including 4,794 tonnes of containerised cargo were handled during the reported period of the activity hours on Monday. There are three cargo vessels namely M V Ikan Tambak, M T Long Camp and M V Argent Iris sailed out to the sea on Monday morning. While three more vessels namely M V Maersk Carolina, M T Al-Salam-II amd M T Golden Ambrosia are expected to sail out to the sea later on same day.
A total number of nine vessels namely M V Maersk Carolina, M V Fisher-K, M T Golden Ambrosia, M V Ikan Tambak, M T Wo Long Song, M V Zeynep-K, M T Long Camp, M T Al-Salam-II and M V Argent Iris are currently occupying the berths to load/offload containerised cargo, cement, chemicals, canola seeds, general cargo, liquefied petroleum gas, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Monday.
There are five vessels namely M T Guana Bara, M T Chem Bulk Hope, M T Chem Road Hope, M V Battery Park and M V Sunrise Wisteria carrying furnace oil, edible oil, chemical and edible oil tanker respectively after loading/offloading are currently to line up at the outer anchorage respectively on Monday. The total number of three vessels M V Battery Park, M T Chem Bulk Jakarta and M T Guana Bara are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Monday.
