The provincial government has started giving second installment of compensation amount, in the shape of Watan Cards (WC), to flood affectees of Hazara division. Khyber Pakhtunkha Minister for Higher Education Qazi Mohammad Asad Khan started distribution of WCs among the affected on Saturday as each affected family would receive Rs 40,000 during the process.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Haripur Syed Mohsin Shah and District Risk Management Coordinator (DRMC) Khurram Riaz were also accompanying the minister during his day long visit to the district to distribute Watan Cards among the affectees. The minister, on the occasion, distributed Watan Cards among the affectees including Aurangzeb, Iqbal, Fazal-ur-Rehman, Raja Zahid Aziz, Nisar Ahmad, Sarfraz Ahmad, Gulab Khan, Parveen Akhtar and Shaheen Akhtar. Addressing a meeting later the minister said that a total of 6,337 affected families of Haripur district would be awarded with WCs.
