Pakistan on Sunday lodged protest with Afghan government for using its territory by Nato/Isaf helicopters and aircraft for the other day's attack which resulted in loss of lives of 24 soldiers and damage to property. "The protest underscores that the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan by Nato/Isaf is also a violation of Isaf's mandate for operations in Afghanistan", said Foreign Office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua.
The protest added that the Government of Afghanistan should take necessary measures to ensure that such acts are not carried out from its territory against Pakistan, the spokesperson said.
The US-led Nato troops in Afghanistan have reportedly violated Pakistan's territorial sovereignty on many occasions but the latest development prompted Pakistan asking the US to vacate Shamsi airbase within 15 days, and also closed down supply line of the international forces for indefinite period.
