Wasim Akhtar calls on Governor Sindh

KARACHI: The Mayor of Karachi, Wasim Akhtar, called on Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair, at the Governor House here on Monday.

At the meeting the progress in connection with the Karachi Development project came up for discussion along with the federally-assisted on-going development projects in the metropolis including Greenline, Lyari Expressway, K-IV water project.

It was agreed that the federal government's assistance would help ensure prosperity in the metropolis.

The Governor Sindh pointed out that Karachi is the economic jugular vein of the country and its progress and development is the priority of the government.

He said that completion of Greenline project would provide modern transport facility to the people.

Zubair pointed out that the prime minister is scheduled to perform the inauguration of the Lyari Expressway within the current month.

He said that the K-IV would help provide additional water to the people of Karachi.

Governor Sindh said that federally-assisted development projects worth Rs. 75 billion are being executed in the metropolis.

The Mayor of Karachi praised the role of Governor Sindh towards the development of the city.

He said that the federal government was fully assisting for the progress of Karachi and that the people of the city appreciate the assistance of the federal government for the betterment of the metropolis.
