The Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) has announced net profit of Rs 1.4 billion during the first quarter of its business in the current financial year, showing a growth of seven percent over last year.
"PTCL's continued profits and growth in the first quarter is an indicator of our customers' satisfaction and trust," said PTCL CEO and President Walid Irshaid, following a meeting of the company's Board of Directors held here on Tuesday, which announced the financial results. "PTCL remains committed to provide friendly, seamless and prompt services to all our customers," he added.
PTCL group revenue during the period under review stood at Rs 27.2 billion, showing a growth of 7 percent over last year. Of this, PTCL's revenue was Rs 14.5 billion. According to the announcement of PTCL Board of Directors, the company's revenue during the period ending September 30, 2011 stood at Rs 27.2 billion. Of this, PTCL's revenue stoods at Rs 14.5 billion.
In the first quarter of the current year, PTCL also launched Pakistan's first ever 3G-enabled tablet with built-in EVO Wireless Broadband. Currently available in more than 100 cities, '3G EVO Tab' is a 7-inch touch screen tablet, offering wireless broadband Internet on the go. Powered by Google Android Froyo 2.2 operating system, it offers support for both 3G and Wi-Fi for uninterrupted and on-the-go Internet connectivity.-PR
