IRAQ-KUWAIT BORDER: The last US troops crossed into neighbouring Kuwait on Sunday morning, completing their withdrawal from Iraq, an American military officer confirmed to an AFP journalist at the border.
The pullout comes nearly nine years after American soldiers crossed the border heading in the opposite direction in a bid to topple Saddam Hussein, and leaves just 157 soldiers responsible for training at the US embassy, as well as a small contingent of Marines assigned to secure the diplomatic mission.
