District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) of city district government Karachi has directed the officers of all concerned departments to avoid sharing any information and interacting with media persons causing severe difficulties to them in getting access to the authentic information on the issues. Sources said that move has been taken just to conceal the administrative flaws being pointed out in various publications on routine basis.
Now a journalist can contact only with Director Media Management of CDGK, Bashir Ahmed Satozai for having any kind of information. It was revealed on Friday when Business Recorder visited various officers at civic centre to discuss and obtain information on uplift work being carried out in different parts of metropolitan, the officers avoided responding the queries of scribe by saying that they are bound strictly not to release any information to media persons as per the directives of Deputy Co-ordination Officer, CDGK.
It is pertinent to mention here that director media management was unable to give any information as he was unaware of the issues of all departments. It is also noteworthy that despite adequate manpower in media management department of CDGK including deputy directors, Administrator CDGK had appointed media consultant on the remuneration of Rs 80,0000 (eighty thousands) per month.
