The ministry of water and power has claimed that loadshedding across the country has come to an end for the time being due to equalisation of demand and supply. "What the National Power Control Centre (NPCC) has informed is that no loadshedding or load management is being done due to end of gap between the demand and supply," said a spokesman of the ministry of water and power.
The spokesman quoted NPCC as claiming that total power generation stands at 13000 MW whereas the demand is also more or less the same. The government has recently released Rs 10 billion for payment to the oil suppliers ie Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and IPPs, which brought a sigh of relief to power consumers of Pepco. Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr Asim Hussain has also played very constructive role in restoration of fuel supply to power generation companies (Gencos). He is also urging gas companies - SSGCL and SNGPL - for continuation of supply to the power sector to end power crisis.
