Secretary Defence Lieutenant General Syed Athar Ali (Retd) inaugurated Prime Minister Housing Scheme at POF Sanjwal, Wah Cantt by unveiling the plaque, says a press release issued here on Thursday. He said that he was very pleased to inaugurate the housing scheme as he considered POF as a native home because he spent his childhood and boyhood in POF and today he was recalling the memories of that time while inaugurated the scheme.
He expressed his satisfaction that POF employees as well as retired POF employees would get benefit from the scheme and the housing project equipped with latest facilities is the best gift for POF employees. "Own roof gives realisation of safety to human being and achievement of home is the natural desire of every person. A Government servant always desires for his own home during service. By grace of God, that happy moment has come due to your sincerity and commitment to the sacred assignment," these views were expressed by Chairman POF Board Lieutenant General Shujaat Zamir Dar.
POF Chairman remarked that special attention was focused for making the process of this housing scheme simple and transparent for which he announced to eliminate the discretionary quota of Chairman POF Board for allotment of plots so that the plots could be allotted purely on merit and seniority basis.
He said that after re-visiting the whole scheme, 481 additional plots were made available from the available 95.29 acres land through its best utilisation. The best and high standard residential facilities like water treatment plant and storm-water drainage to save it from environmental pollution will be ensured in this housing scheme and it will be connected with Kamra, Attock and G.T.
