Sri Lankan team on dengue virus has declared that dengue disease is hundred percent curable and people should not be panic. They observed that in hospitals, maximum arrangements have been made by the Punjab Government and now this spell would end at its ultimate tenure.
They held meetings at Allama Iqbal Medical College with health authorities. Professor Dr Jawed Akram, Dean I.P.H. Professor Dr Yaqub Qazi, doctors and senior officers attended and briefed Sri Lanka team on the present situation in this hospital. They told that thousands patients being attended daily and so many wards have been allocated for dengue patients only.
Head of Sir Lankan team Dr Hassitha Tessessira briefed senior doctors and professors regarding the latest research and their findings on dengue and shared experience of their country. He said that now we should look forward and try to overcome this menace with collective efforts. He said that every citizen would have to adopt preventive measures and ensure safe environment. He said that no government could alone meet this challenge.
Moreover, Sir, Lankan team visited different areas in Model Town area. They visited Divisional Public School, Parking area in Main Market and different houses to examine dengue "lawa" and virus position. They took water samples and tested them on the spot. Later, this team visited out door and in door sections of Jinnah Hospital. They exchanged views with doctors and patients of dengue and observed that in Jinnah Hospital standard of medical treatment was up to the mark.
