Pakistan Defence Day would be observed with traditional zeal, enthusiasm and with national spirit on Tuesday (6th September) with a renewed pledge to sacrifice lives for upholding the prestige of Pakistan and defending the Motherland and to pay homage to all the martyrs and Ghazis of September 06, 1965, Indo-Pak War.
The Day will dawn with the special prayers in all the mosques for national solidarity, integrity, prosperity and peace.
The main Hilal-e-Istaqlal hoisting ceremony would be held at historical Sialkot Fort under the auspices of Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), where the people and Pak Army personnel will hoist the Hilal-e-Istaqlal, which was conferred upon the people of Sialkot, who wrote a golden history of bravery by sacrificing their lives for defending the motherland near Sialkot during the September 06, 1965, Indo-Pak War.
The people and senior Pak Army officials will salute the Shuhada and lay the floral wreaths at their graves in Sialkot, Daska and Chawinda during the special ceremonies to be held there.
Sialkot based senior Pak Army officials said that the Defence Day of Pakistan reminds us of the indomitable courage and unmatched sacrifices of our gallant men who 44 years ago proved the world that the Defence of Pakistan is unassailable. They said that 6th September stands out as a symbol of our enduring display of Unity, Faith and Discipline as a nation. It is the Day when the nefarious designs of the enemy, bedevilled by its arrogance of numerical superiority thwarted. It is the day to pay homage to our Shuhada and Ghazis, and to draw inspiration from their iconic acts of velour and supreme sacrifices. The Day also proclaims that the proud sons of this valiant nation are even capable of defending the sacred frontiers of their Motherland.
They added that compared to 1965, Pakistan today has emerged as more resilient and vibrant country with strong conventional and non-conventional power. This Day reminds us of determination, selflessness and sacrifices of our Armed Forces, which they had rendered for the Defence of Pakistan.
