The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will continue implementation on its comprehensive, revolutionary, welfare and pro-poor Policies in the Province, said Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif while talking to the Media after checking the quality of under-construction" Ashiyana Housing Scheme" near Makkoanna, on Jaranwala Road here Sunday afternoon.
He said that loot and plunder has become order of the day and it is pity that empowered and highly influential people are involve in this country-wide pillage. He said that we would not allow these forces to destroy this homeland of 170 million people who had offered great sacrifices under able leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Without quoting President, Asif Ali Zardari, he said that top person sitting on the Hill in Islamabad is responsible of all these ills. He vowed to lay down his life while protecting the Pakistan. He said that he was not going to spend rupees two billion on the purchase of new Helicopter. He said that in a country where people are deprived of water, food and shelter, how a person like him could abuse his authority. He said that he had only sent his helicopter for repair, while he came here on an Army Helicopter.
About new Wikileaks disclosure he said that Pakistan Army is a State Institution and we could use its services in national calamities like flood and earthquakes. Dispelling the negative propaganda, CM said that it would be appropriate to ask this question from top person sitting in Islamabad.
About the welfare-oriented policies of PML-N, the Chief Minister said that henceforth all facilities were dolled-out to the privileged and elite class but we have changed this trend by focusing on the poor and low-income socio-economic groups. He said that the majority of people who had offered sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan were living in slums surrounding with ponds of stinking water. We would provide them neat and clean environment with quality houses." I am here to check the quality of these Model Ashiyana Houses" and said that the quality of these houses was as good as in Lahore. He said that 2800 houses would be constructed in Faisalabad under Ashiyana Housing Scheme and he had issued clear instructions to DCO, Nasim Sadiq and CEO of Punjab Land Development Company, Dr Arshad, to select the best contractor through a transparent system to ensure their quality completion before the coming winter season. These houses, he added, would be allotted to 100 percent deserving persons through transparent balloting. He made it clear that no recommendation from CM or any Legislator would be accepted and he would personally supervise the process of balloting in Faisalabad.
He said that Ashiyana Housing Scheme is being implemented in 8 major cities of Punjab but we intend to expand this scheme to the other parts of the country also.
Chief Minister also said that the standard of Danish Schools would be equal to that of Atchison College. The children belonging to the low-income group will get admission in these schools to lead the country in future.
He also announced an under-pass Abdullahpur Crossing to resolve the traffic-related problems.
Earlier, Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sana Ullah, said that Chief Minister is making hectic efforts to resolve the problems being confronted by the poor lots. He said that the Punjab government has donated State Land for Ashiyana Housing Scheme and CM will be invited to again visit Faisalabad for the inauguration of this Project. He also said that 20 thousand Yellow Cabs would be provided to educated unemployed youth and it would help arrest the menace of unemployment from the country. About Danish Schools, the Minister said that talented students of Danish Schools would be facilitated to complete their education in best Universities of International repute. He said that in this connection, an Endowment Fund has already been created with seed money of rupees 8 billion, which would further be increased in near future.
Senator, Pervaiz Rashid, District President PML-N Chaudhry Safdar Rehman and Parliamentarians, Khalid Mansoor, Abid Sher Ali, Haji Akram Ansari, Khawaja Muhammad Islam, Dr Imtiaz Baluch and former legislator, Rai Salah-ud-din, Talal Chaudhry and RPO Aftab Ahmed Cheema were also present.
