A high level meeting of Sindh Home Department on Sunday extensively reviewed requirements and procurement for police force under the rupees five billion package announced by President Asif Ali Zardari.

The meeting identified equipped vehicles, weapons and updated close circuit camera system among the force as most urgent and essential requirements. The package will also include Rs 2.50 billion share of Sindh government. It is meant to improve law and order situation of Karachi and ensure protection of life and property of the citizens.
The meeting also made important decisions related to the rules and regulations for the procurement of modern weapons for police force.
The meeting was attended by Secretary General to President, Salman Farooqui, Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Wassan, Sindh Finance Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, IG Police, Wajid Ali Durrani, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Wasim Ahmed, Sindh Finance Secretary, Naveed Kamran Baloch and Special Secretary to Sindh Chief Minister, Ata Mohammad Panhwar.
