At least three persons including an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were gunned down in separate incidents in different areas of the metropolis here on Sunday. According to police, an activist of MQM was targeted in Lines Area in the limits of Brigade police station.
They said the deceased, Rehan, 30, who was targeted near his house in Block F, Lines Area, succumbed to his injures on the way to hospital. The body was handed over to his family after legal formalities.
After the incident, tension gripped the area that led to suspension of all commercial and social activities in the area. In another incident, a bullet-riddled body of a man was found in the limits of Pirabad police station. Police said the identity of the victim has not yet been ascertained. The body was found near Chotta graveyard, frontier colony. They said the victim was kidnapped and then murdered. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later moved to Edhi morgue.
A man was shot dead in the limits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Police said the victim Abdul Kareem, 35, was killed when he was sitting near his house located in Hussain Hazara Goth, Gulshan-e-Iqbal. They said the body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and later handed over to his family.
