Met Office warns of deluge in Sindh, southern Punjab

The Met Office on Saturday warned that heavy rainfall may cause urban/flash flooding in Sindh and southern Punjab, as it forecast widespread rain/thundershower with isolated heavy falls in most parts of the country.
The forecast says that Sindh, southern Punjab and eastern Balochistan are likely to receive widespread rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy downpour, while isolated rain/thundershower are likely to hit the upper parts of the country in the next 24 hours.
"Seasonal low lies over north-west Balochistan. Strong monsoon currents are continuously penetrating eastern and southern parts of the country," the Met Office said, adding that more rains/thundershower with isolated heavy falls are expected in Sindh, eastern Balochistan and southern Punjab in the next 48 hours.
During last 24 hours, upper and lower parts of the country received scattered rain/thundershower, according to the Met Office and showed chief amounts of rainfall recorded at Nawabshah 52 mm, Sahiwal 35 mm, Parachinar 26 mm, Lasbella 19 mm, Pattan 13 mm, Lahore (PBO) 11 mm and Okara 10 mm. Karachi weather is likely to remain partly cloudy with chances of rain-thundershower during the next 24 hours with temperature ranging between 33 degree centigrade and 35 degree centigrade.
