'Hindko Naatia Mushaira' organised

Published Updated

The Gandhara Hindko Board, a literary cultural and social welfare organisation organised a 'Hindko Naatia Mushaira' and 'Mehfil-e-Naat' and enthralled the audience as a group of Iranian Qaris added attraction to the function held every year in Ramazan. The naatia mushaira (poetry recital session) and mehfil-e-naat started at 10pm after the Taraveeh prayers at the Milad House at Ishrat Cinema Road in Gulbahar Colony.
A noted religious figure Syed Ghulamus Syedain Gillani, popularly known as Sher Agha, was the chief guest at the function while Director General of the Iranian Culture Centre, Syed Mohammad Zakiri also attended the event along-with a group of five Qaris from his country.
On the occasion, a total of 12 Hindko poets recited their poetry and expressed reverence for the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Up to 10 naatkhuwan showed their love for the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) by presenting naats and won appreciation from the audience. The presence of five Qaris from Iran, who are on a visit to Peshawar during the holy month, added to the attraction of the programme. Qaris Mohammad Jawad Rajai, Mohammad Hussain Baaqyan, Ghulam Raza Khalili, Ali Raza Khalili and Mohammad Jalali recited from the Holy Qur'an and won praise from the audience.
Assisted by a noted scholar of the Persian language from Kohat, Professor Syed Ghayyur Hussain, Syed Mohammad Zakiri praised the organisers for arranging a function where the Holy Qur'an was recited so beautifully and the love for the Holy Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) was expressed through naats.
Expressing his views, Syed Ghulamus Syedain Gillani said the salvation of Muslims is in acting upon the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and following the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). He exhorted the Muslims to unite by promoting tolerance and respect for each other, as these are the essential for amity and peace.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Gandhara Hindko Board General Secretary, Mohammad Ziauddin said that Hindko naatia mushaira is among the permanent activities of the board headed by Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi. It has been working since its launch in 1993 for the preservation and promotion of Hindko, which is the second main language of the KP and sixth widely spoken language of the country.
