The exports of petroleum and coal products witnessed wide surge of 152.56 percent during the first month of the current fiscal year as compared to the same month of last year. The exports of petroleum and gas products stood at $157.730 million during July 2011 as compared to the exports of $62.453 during July 2010, Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) reported.
As compared to the exports of $98.175 million in June 2011, the exports of petroleum and coal products increased by 60.66 percent, according to FBS data. The commodities that contributed in positive growth in exports included petroleum products (excluding top Naptha), exports of which increase from $43.656 million in July 2010 to $83.213 million in July 2011, showing an increase of 90.61 percent.
Similarly, the exports of petroleum products (excluding top naptha) increased by 27.36 percent in million July 2011 when compared to the exports of $65.337 million n June 2011. The exports of petroleum top naptha increased 296.12 percent from $18.797 million in July 2010 to $74.459 million in July 2011, the data revealed.
As compared to the exports of $32.862 million in June 2011, the exports of petroleum naptha increased 126.83 percent in July 2011. On the other hand, the exports of solid fuels (coal) increased by 100 percent during July 2011 over July 2010 and June 2011. The exports of the product stood at $0.058 million against zero exports in July 2011 and June 2011.
