NBP to brief Senate committee on Sugar Mills’ credits

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Committee on Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs and Narcotics Control would be briefed on Thursday by the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on pending credit applications of Sugar Mills to enhance their crushing capacity.
The bank would also provide details of credit given to the mills for the purpose of enhancing crushing capacity during the last four years, according to Senate Secretariat Notification.
The meeting of the committee, scheduled on January 4 and January 5 (Thursday, Friday) would be held under the chairmanship of Saleem Mandviwalla in Karachi.
It is also scheduled to be briefed by the NBP on the officers promoted under promotion policy 2016-17 along with the parameters and criteria set out for the said promotions.
The bank would also brief the committee on opening of its branch in China, the notification added.
It would also be given a detailed presentation by the Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (PSPC) and National Security Printing Corporation (NSPC) on inspection of machinery used for printing of the currency notes and other items.
In addition, it would be apprised on the working and performance of the PSPC and NSPC and its budgetary allocations and its utilization.
