Despite several high-level meetings regarding law and order situation in Karachi, the ongoing ethnic violence continues unabated, as seven more persons fell prey to the bloodbath in different areas of the metropolis here on Sunday.
According to police, the bodies of the two young men found from MPR Colony graveyard, Orangi Town. The victims were identified as Zeeshan Sattar and Faisal Qadeer. Police said both were relatives and were kidnapped when they went to buy some foodstuff. They said the victim, Faisal, was a resident of Landhi area and came to his cousin's home from where he was kidnapped.
The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. Police said the victims had no political affiliation and might have been murdered on ethnic ground.
In another incident, one, Gauhar Zaman, was gunned down near Qatar Moor in the limits of Orangi Town police station.
Police said the victim, who was the resident of Banaras, and a cobbler by profession, was killed in ethnic violence. They said the victim hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A bullet-riddled body stuffed in a gunny bag was found from Lyari Naddi near Raxer Lane in the remits of Pak Colony police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained. Police said the victim, who received single bullet on his head, had several torture marks on his body. They said the victim seemed to be Urdu speaking person. The body was shifted to ASH for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
A rickshaw driver, Rustam Faqeer Mohammad, was shot dead near Bismillah Hotel in the limits of Pak Colony police station. Police said the victim was a resident of Rangi Muhalla, Ranchore Line, and was going to home when he was targeted. They further said the deceased received one bullet on his head and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.
Yet another bullet-riddled body was found from near Teen Hattie Bridge in the limits of Super Market police station. Police said the body was two-day old and they did not find any thing to ascertain his identity. The body was shifted to ASH for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue.
A three-day-old beheaded and tortured body was found from Machar Colony within the jurisdiction of Docks police station. Police said the victim, who wore Shalwar Kameez, appeared in his mid twenties. The body was shifted to CHK and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
Meanwhile, two houses were torched in Mehmoodabad area after an armed clash between two groups of drug peddlers. Following the said incident, heavy contingents of police and Rangers rushed to Chanesar Goth to bring situation under control. Two minor boys on Saturday night lost their lives in this armed clashed.
