Global financial crisis has made every country to cry out for exports to support the dwindling and weakening financial and industrial sectors. I appreciate the LCCI for organising LCCI Achievement Awards 2011. It will create interest among the enterprises having export prospects and inspire those already engaged in export business to double their efforts to increase export volume.
On this occasion, as Veteran Business Leader, my message is that exporters should go into export diversification and value addition to improve terms of trade. Moreover, emphasis should be on export of branded products. Since food shortage is being envisioned by the world organisation, our exporters should embark upon export of food items. It is an opportune time to establish brands in foreign markets. I also congratulate the winners of awards and hope this encouragement will prove an incentive for them to come up next year with still better results.
