ATC grants Imran Khan bail in all four cases

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) approved on Tuesday pre-arrest bail pleas of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan regarding four cases during sit-ins in 2014.
During the court proceedings, Khan's lawyer Babar Awan argued that 11 witnesses had recorded their statements and none of them had specifically named Khan, local media reported.
After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Shahrukh Arjumand had reserved the verdict on the bail application of the PTI chief, after which he gave the verdict later on. While speaking to the media outside the court, PTI chairman said that if the court dismissed his bail pleas, then he would readily surrender.
ATC rejects Imran’s plea to remove terror charges
Earlier, both Khan and his lawyer Awan had not appeared before the court and the hearing had been adjourned after the court summoned Khan. When the judge asked whether the suspects involved in attacking Pakistan Television (PTV) had been arrested, the police replied in negative.
On December 11, an ATC had rejected Khan's application to transfer the case to a civil court. The court had also extended Khan's interim bail till January 2.
Khan has been accused in cases pertaining to attacks on senior superintendent of police Ullah Junejo, PTV office and Parliament during sit-ins back in 2014 and forcibly releasing the suspects.
