Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said people may have different opinion regarding creation of new provinces and constitutional means are also available.
Talking to the media after laying foundation stones of Ghala Dher Road, Central Jail Road, Maho Dheri Road, Swimming Pool and additional sports facilities in Mardan Sports Complex, the chief minister said that being part of the Sindh Government, taking ANP in confidence in connection with any decision regarding Karachi is its right.
MPA Haji Ahmad Khan Bahader, ANP District Leader Engineer Abbas, Commissioner Mohammed Aadel Khan, DIG Abdullah Khan, high officials C&W, Director General sports Khan Zeb and others were also present. The chief minister said that division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may be a wish, but reality is totally different. The approval from national and provincial assemblies is essential for creating new province, he added.
In reply to a query, he said that opinion regarding creation of Hazara province would only be offered in case resolution is being presented in the provincial assembly. "We respect people's opinion; we have no objection over political struggle of anyone, as we believe it is their political and constitutional right," he added.
The chief minister clarified that the government has no such intention of weakening the federation and no such element was involved in change in the name of the province. Several decades' efforts are behind attainment of this identity for the province, he added.
He said that they were among those who struggled for the survival and safety of the country and their leadership, workers and people of this province have rendered huge sacrifices. He said that it was their country and its prosperity and development was their national responsibility. He said that being part of the Sindh government, taking ANP in confidence in connection with any decision regarding Karachi is its right and stance of ANP leadership in this connection is appropriate.
To a query regarding attack on an office of newspaper in Peshawar, the chief minister said that they believed in freedom of press. Police personnel involved in the raid have been suspended and inquiry is underway and further actions will be taken after concluding report, he added.
