Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education has announced the result of Secondary School Certificate (SSC 2011) on Tuesday. Professor Muhammad Akbar, Controller of examination briefed the newsmen that total 1,12,964 candidates applied, of them 1,10,325 candidates appeared in the examination. Of these candidates, 67,164 passed the examination achieving the percentage of 60.87.
Elaborating, he said that total 59,518 candidates appeared in Science Group, of them 44,661 candidates passed making a pass percentage of 75.03, while 22,503 out of total 50,807 candidates were declared successful in the General Group achieving the pass percentage of 44.29. He also announced the names of the toppers in the examination.
Punjab Minister for Labour and Auqaf, Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi distributed prizes and medals among the toppers in the examination. According to the board's notification, Naukhez Model Girls High School Shah Rukn-i-Alam annexed the top two overall position as its student Mehvish Kalsoom, roll no.708007) obtained 1021 marks, and Ammara Chand (roll no.707469) got 1018 marks. Farheen Fatima Khan (roll no.703408) of Multan Public School for Girls also got second position by securing 1018 marks. Muneeba Ramzan (roll no.706392) and Maida Shehzad (Roll no.706776) of Nishat Girls High School got third position by securing 1015 marks.
Science Group (Boys) Muhammad Abbas (roll no.710756) of Quaid-e-Millat Public boys school Jalalpur pirwala, Muhammad Ahmed Masud Gil (roll no. 707068) of Naukhez Public school New Multan got the top position by securing 1011 marks Shoaib Shahid (roll no. 707085) of Laurates Boys School and Muhammad Waqas (roll no. 114423) of Government High School Mailsi stood second and third by securing 1010 and 1008 marks respectively. Science Group (Girls): Mehvish Kalsoom (roll no. 708007), Ammara Chand (roll no. 707469) Farheen Fatima Khan, Munbeeba Ramzan Mayo, and Maida Shehzad got first, second, second, third and third positions by obtaing 1021, 1018, 1018,1015 and 1015 marks respectively.
General Group (Boys): Hafiz Muhammad Zubair (Roll No 107068) of Jamia Science Secondary School Multan, Rao Roman Ali (roll no.503883) of Zameer Public school Multan, and Hafiz Muhammad Muazzam (roll no. 105417) of Government Islamia High School Daulat Gate got first, second and third position by securing 922,916 and 914 marks respectively. General Group (Girls): Aqdas Imam Shah (roll No 103160) of Zikiriya High School for Girls, Romaila Anwar (roll no. 103085) of Nishat Higher Secondary Sschool for girls and Saba Zahoor (roll no. 115910) of Punjab Public Science Girls High School Khanewal annexed first, second and third positions by obtaining 980, 970 and968 marks respectively.
National Talent Scholarship was awarded to 67 students (Boys 36 and Girls 31); scholarship of rupees.500 per month in case of resident scholar and Rs 300 p/m in case of non-resident scholar. Besides, the students would be paid Rs 1000 for purchase of book and other educational equipment.
