'PPP government will complete its five-year term'

Federal Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, categorically said that the PPP-led democratic government will complete its five-year constitutional period, saying that the political change on demand of some quarters is totally unjustified and out of context.
He said that PPP has always defied dictatorship in the country, while addressing a public gathering and party workers on Sunday. He alleged that PPP opponent had plunged the country into several crises.
The Minister said that PPP had rendered sacrifices of its great leader Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Mohatarma Benazir Bhutto for the sake of democratic principles and to keep its values high in the country. He reiterated that PPP-led coalition government will continue its efforts to put the country on the path of development and progress.
"We have much cognisance of the problems confronting the people, inherited from the dictatorial regimes," he maintained. "We are doing our level best to pull the country out of the prevailing crises as soon as possible, he remarked.
He said that people will see revolutionary changes in every sector very soon; saying there is need to be patient and calm and asked the people to avoid any baseless propaganda against the government.
Dr. Arbab said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani are making diligent efforts to put the country on the path of progress and development. He praised the efforts of security forces for safeguarding and protecting borders of the country, saying that the armed forces have also backed civilian democratic government in the country.
He said that it is not the time to indulge in negative propaganda; rather it is time to promote patriotism, unity and brotherhood.
The Minister also urged the party workers to promote the philosophy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto so that we could achieve our goal. He also advised the workers to be aware of the manoeuvring and negative propaganda of anti-democracy forces. He expressed the hope that the PPP-led alliance government will achieve its goals set for progress and development of the country.
