Operational preparedness is top priority: Admiral Sandila

Published Updated

admiral-m-asif-sandilaKARACHI: The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila on Thursday witnessed wide ranging naval  manoeuvres in North Arabia Sea which were participated by a variety of PN combat platforms.

An ISPR (Navy) press release on Thursday said that the Admiral who was on his first visit of the Naval Fleet since assuming command of Pakistan Navy, spent whole day at the sea and closely watched the conduct of various exercises.

The Naval forces carried out operations across entire gamut of maritime warfare including Maritime Interdiction Operations, counter terrorism and anti-piracy drills in addition to hardcore naval operations featuring anti-submarine exercises and anti air warfare procedures, besides live weapons' firing, search and rescue and logistic support exercises.

The Admiral lauded high operational readiness of the fleet units and urged the officers and men to be cognizant of the changing operational dictates which merit optimum readiness at all times.

He further added that future naval conflict will be characterised by intense multi-dimensional operations which demand seamless integration of both intra and inter services operational plans.

He emphasised on the need to ensure judicious utilisation of national resources which in these times of financial constraints is more than ever important.

Earlier on his arrival, the Admiral was received by Commander Pakistan Fleet Rear Admiral M. Zakaullah who briefed on fleet activities and steps being taken to uplift the combat readiness of fleet command.
