Bullish sentiments dominate LSE

Bullish sentiments dominated Lahore Stock Exchange on Thursday where equities registered gains amid slightly improved trading turnover due to fresh buying interest in the blue chips.
The LSE-25 index gained 27.56 points and closed at 3200.08 against 3172.52 of Wednesday, while transaction volume marginally increased to 2.734 million shares compared with the earlier day volume of 2.315 million shares.
The market opened on a healthy note and showed strength following fresh buying in select blue chips. Though, the market remained volatile and witnessed both ways move, it finally ended on a positive note. Potential shares like PPL, Attock Refinery, MCB Bank, National Bank, Bank Alfalah, Faysal Bank, Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Fatima Fertiliser, Habib Sugar and Lucky Cement helped market improvement while Pakistan Oil Fields, OGDC, Habib Bank, Nishat Mills, Millat Tractors, Nishat Chunian, Pakistan Reinsurance, Adamjee Insurance, Hub Power and Thal Limited succumbed to profit-taking and closed in the minus column.
However, gainers outnumbered the losers, as out of a total of 119 active issues, 34 companies registered gains, 19 went down while 66 stayed glued to their previous levels. PPL improved by Rs 2.53, Attock Refinery appreciated by Rs 2.08, MCB Bank gained Rs 1.40 while National Bank and Faysal Bank were up by Rs 1.22 and Rs 1.00 respectively. In the minus column, Pakistan Oil Fields lost Rs 2.41, Habib Bank declined by 87-paisa while Nishat Mills and Millat Tractors depreciated by 78-paisa and 50-paisas, respectively.
NIB Bank with a trading of 500,833 shares topped the volume leaders while Bank of Punjab stayed as runner up with 290,392 shares at the stock exchange.
