Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 96,844 tonnes of cargo including 70,574 tonnes of import cargo, 26,270 tonnes of export cargo and 3,164 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 70,574 tonnes comprised of 23,600 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,047 tonnes of general cargo; 6,927 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,556 tonnes of DAP; 5,371 tonnes of yellow peas and 37,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,270 tonnes comprised of 14,018 tonnes of containerised cargo; 435 tonnes of general cargo; 2,017 tonnes of cement and 9,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Four ships namely Resolve, Huga SW, Aqua Blue and Hanjin Rome carrying vehicles carrier, two general cargo ships and container ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Wan Hai-603, APL Cyprine, MT Quetta, Ozay-5 and Valor SW carrying two container ships, two oil tankers and DAP ship are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Hyundai Freedom, APL Cyprine, Wan Hai-603 and Lindavia carrying four container ships expected to sail on Wednesday, while two ships namely MT Quetta and Sea Wave with oil tanker and cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
Three vessels viz Hanjin Monaco, Jakarta Express and Norca carrying two container ships and mogas carrier respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday, while eight vessels viz Lodestar Genesia, Four Island, Borneo Pioneer, Bon Vent, Parmis, Banjo Bridge, Emirates Yangtze and Ocean Host carrying chemicals carrier, crude oil tanker, two ethanol carriers, three container ships and coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 54,106 tonnes of cargo includes 46,534 tonnes of import cargo, 7,572 tonnes of export cargo and 2,000 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 46,534 tonnes includes 14,832 tonnes of furnace oil; 3,237 tonnes of edible oil; 7,930 tonnes of coal and 20,535 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 7,572 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely Sealand Washington and Royal Crystal-7 sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning.
A total number of six vessels CSAV Appennini, Sealand Washington, MV Wales-II, MT Theoforos-I, Kassos and Royal Crystal-7 are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Pago, Olaruga, CMA CGM Bellini and Al-Salam-II carrying containers and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of three vessels viz CV CMA CGM Bellini, CV Pago and CV Olaruga carrying containers are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Wednesday.
