Sindh University (SU) will introduce special education discipline in department of social work; a proposal will be moved to Academic Council for the approval and Higher Education Commission (HEC) for special funding for set-up of the laboratories for special education.
This was stated by Professor Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Registrar of the University of Sindh, while addressing as chief guest in a dinner hosted by Pakistan Association of Blind Jamshoro Chapter at the Sindh University Teachers Club.
The occasion was largely attended by professors, officers and employees and office-bearers of Pakistan Association of the Blind. Dr Kalhoro encouraged the members of the association and lauded their efforts for the welfare of special people and said that they are working well where ever they are employed and added that the Sindh University is strictly following the quota reserved for the special people.
He said that society should pay attention to special people that they can also play their healthy part for the betterment of our society. He said that some special persons working in the University always doing well and performing their duties with responsibilities as normal people.
Responding a demand of the association said that a circular will be issued and distributed among employees to seek their consent for their contribution for the financial help of Jamshoro chapter of association. He also assured his all co-operation to the association and also appealed the people to extend their co-operation to special people to live with peace of mind. Dr Raja Muhammad Ilyas chairman department of statistics speaking on the occasion offered full co-operation and said that there is need to create awareness that society should take care of the special persons in every part of life.
Khalil Rehman Shaikh, Secretary, Pakistan Association of Blind Jamshoro Chapter, working as PA to Project Director speaking on the occasion highlighted the working of the association. He thanked to participants and said that now days special persons are performing their responsibilities and they are skilful. He further said that due to blindness we instead of discouraging us people always struggling for well life and striving hard to serve the society. He said that we feel that we can serve better way instead of any burden to our parents or society. Qari Saad Noor, President of Pakistan Association of Blind, on this occasion appreciating efforts announced donation of Rs25,000 for the Jamshoro branch.
