Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, inaugurated a three-day drive against polio. A simple ceremony to this effect was held at the CM House here on Saturday. The campaign, a part of the national drive against polio, would be conducted from July 18 to 20 in Sindh in collaboration with the Unicef.
An official announcement said that during the period more and more children under five years of age would be administered polio drops. At the inaugural ceremony Syed Qaim Ali Shah also administered polio drops to some children. Special Assistant to CM Sindh Waqar Medhi, Provincial Secretary Health Rizwan Ahmed, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed and Unicef's Incharge of Polio Programme in Sindh Jamil Yousuf were also present on the occasion. In Sindh some 21,000 teams would take part in administering polio drops to about 7.4 million children under five years of age.
