LSE index down 13.15 points

Bears dominated the proceedings at Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on Monday where equities showed negative signs amid descending transaction volume. The LSE-25 index moved down to 3109.87 points against 3123.02 points of last Friday, showing a decline of 13.15 points. Transaction volume reduced to 1.543 million against previous 2.069 million shares.
According to brokers, the investors were not showing interest to take fresh positions. Flying Cement, MCB Bank, Askari Bank, Arif Habib Corp, Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Maple Leaf Cement, Faysal Bank and Bank Alfalah resisted pressure and registered minor gains, while PPL, Engro Corp, Pak Oilfields, SNGPL, Fauji Fertiliser, OGDC, Nishat Mills, Lucky Cement, NBP and Tariq Glass suffered losses.
The losers were much more than the gainers, as out of 96 companies, only 12 closed in green zone, and 29 suffered losses, while 55 companies stayed unchanged. Flying Cement gained 42 paisa, MCB Bank improved by 32 paisa, Arif Habib Corp appreciated by 28 paisa, and Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Maple Leaf Cement, Faysal Bank and Bank Alfalah were up by 25 paisa, 9 paisa, 5 paisa and 4 paisa, respectively.
PPL shed Rs 2.20, Engro Corp declined by Rs 1.35, Pak Oilfields lost Rs 0.81, while SNGPL, Fauji Fertiliser Company, OGDC, Nishat Mills, Lucky Cement, NBP and Tariq Glass were down by 80 paisa, 79 paisa, 77 paisa, 67 paisa, 60 paisa, 53 paisa and 0.43 paisa, respectively.
