Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that implementation on ban of processions on Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam (The Mall Road) would be ensured and legal action would be taken against the violators.
Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that problems of traders of Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam are genuine and government will ensure implementation of ban on public meetings and processions on Mall Road. However, there will be permission of demonstrations in Nasir Bagh so that traffic system could not be disturbed due to demonstrations.
Earlier, delegation of traders of the metropolis, representative of traders bodies said that due to demonstrations and processions on Mall Road which results in traffic problems in the city. Two big hospitals of the city Sir Ganga Ram and Mayo Hospitals are adjacent to Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam and due to traffic jam, patients also have to face inconvenience particularly during the session of assembly traffic problems further increased due to processions.
Representatives of Anjuman Tajran Mall Road said that public meetings and processions on the Mall Road badly affect their business. Consumers, particularly women and children, are very upset due to traffic jam. It takes a lot of time for smooth flow of traffic after every procession.
