Ahead of Ramazan: Chicken prices shoot up

Prices of daily-use items, particularly meat, are going up on a daily basis ahead of the holy month of Ramazan. Citizens told APP here on Saturday that hike in prices before Ramazan had become a routine. Some two or three weeks back, the price of chicken meat was between Rs 142 and Rs 160 per kg in the city but now it has skyrocketed to Rs 210.
Mutton, which is selling at Rs 520 to Rs 550 per kg in the city has already gone out of the reach of the commonman. They appealed to authorities concerned to look into the matter and make arrangements to control prices.
