The Karachi Port handled 66,347 tonnes of cargo including 38,816 tonnes of import cargo, 27,531 tonnes of export cargo and 3,384 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 38,816 tonnes comprised of 24,737 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,375 tonnes of general cargo; 5,519 tonnes of bulk cargo and 7,185 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,531 tonnes comprised of 23,898 tonnes of containerised cargo; 50 tonnes of general cargo; 3,583 tonnes of bulk cargo: 541 tonnes of cement; 2,368 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 431 tonnes of rice. Six ships namely MT Lahore, Emeks, Siam Singapore, MSC Peggy, Emirates Kanako and Freedom carrying oil tanker, ethanol carrier, three container ships and vehicles carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Dandle, Praia, Hanjin Paris, APL Sharjah and Dongbu Promy-2 carrying four container ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Seven ships namely Praia, Hanjin Paris, APL Sharjah, Dongbu Promy-2, Marilena and Safina-2 carrying four container ships, oil tanker, LSD and cement respectively expected to sail on Sunday. Two vessels viz Kuniang and Rosy Falcon with chick peas carrier and wheat carrier due to arrive on Saturday, while nine vessels viz Dlace, MT Quetta, Violetta, MOL Seabreeze, Cape Maas, OEL Trust, APL Ruby, Kota Arif and Al-Mirqab carrying ethanol carrier, crude oil tanker and seven container ships respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 87,705 tonnes of cargo includes 66,414 tonnes of import cargo, 21,291 tonnes of export cargo and 1,648 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 66,414 tonnes includes 49,211 tonnes of furnace oil; 8,000 tonnes of palm oil; 2,500 tonnes of LPG and 6,700 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 21,291 tonnes includes 2,455 tonnes of wheat and 18,836 tonnes of containerised cargo. A ship namely MT Kassos sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while two more ships namely MT Gas Sulawesi and MV Glory will sail out to sea on the same day.
A total number of five vessels Tamil Nadu, Glory, Kassos, Gas Sulawesi and Siam Sapphire are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, furnace oil, palm oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours. Seven ships namely NYK Kai, Al-Soor-II, Chrisopigl Lady, CS Summer, Kasugta, Seena-4 and Toopaz-2 carrying containers, diesel oil, gas oil, phosphoric acid, LPG and cement carrier are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of five vessels viz NYK Kai, Chrisopigl Lady, CS Summer, Seena-4 and Toopaz-2 carrying containers, gas oil, LPG and cement are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal, FOTCO Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Multi-Purpose Terminal respectively on Saturday.
