Monsoon currents penetrating eastern and upper parts of the country upto 5000 feet will cause more scattered rain/dust-thundershowers in upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lower Sindh, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan on Saturday. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, scattered rain/dust-thundershower, with isolated heavy falls at times, is likely in its upper and central parts of the province including Malakand, Hazaro, Peshawar, Kohat and D.I. Khan divisions on Saturday.
However, hot and humid weather is likely in most parts of Sindh with chances of isolated rain/dust-thundershower in southern Sindh during next 24 hours. In Balochistan, hot and dry weather is expected during next 24 hours, however, rain/thundershower is expected at scattered places in Kashmir and GB during next 24 hours.
The Met analysis said seasonal low still lies over north-east Balochistan with its trough extending south-eastward, however, the wet spell continued from last 48 hours will end on Saturday evening/night.
According to reports, the negligence of the authorities in different parts of Punjab and KP created water pools on roads and undermined the enjoyment of locals who were happy due to pleasant change in weather. Rainwater entered in houses and destroyed people's belongings in some cities. Four children have died due to collapse of walls and buildings during rain, the reports added.
The rainfall recorded in different cities during last 24 hours was Lahore 104 mm, Sialkot 98 mm, Bannu 67 mm, Sargodha 39 mm, Risalpur 32 mm, Mandi Bahauddin 30 mm, Faisalabad 27 mm, Islamabad and Rawalpindi 6 mm. Maximum temperature recorded on Friday was Islamabad 32 C, Lahore 33 C, Karachi 35 C, Peshawar 33 C, Quetta 35 C, Murree 20 C and the highest maximum temperature was recorded 46 C in Dadu.
