An introduction to YGL was given by Kasim Kasuri CEO Beacon House System. He later introduced Malini Mehra Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Center For Social Markets and YGL from India. Speaking about the climate change Dr Najam said that we were currently living through it and there was a need to adapt to these changes and take measures to ensure that living conditions do not worsen because of natural disasters. He also said that if we adapt ourselves to deal with the climate change, natural disasters would cause less damage.
Najam also stressed the need on the importance of managing our water resources efficiently to prevent food stress, energy stress and disease stress. He also shared a study that brought to light the impact of human security on climate and showed how natural disasters had a greater effect on people as compared to war, especially in our region.
