The success of a truly efficient, transparent and user friendly tax systems rests squarely on the maximum utilisation of automation and allied technologies. This is the cornerstone of all the international best practices of all successful tax administrations in the world.
Minimising contact between the taxpayers and tax collector, round the clock facilitation, risk profiling, informed and quality assessment are all totally dependent on the use of computers and the latest communication technologies. Realising the importance of modern information technology and automation the Sindh Revenue Board has made all arrangements to facilitate the tax payers with a totally automated system of tax collection starting from registration, e-filing of tax returns, assessments, and payment of tax at SRB portal (http://e.srb.gos.pk) without going to the tax office and the bank. Some of the facilities are detailed below:
REGISTRATION SRB has allowed the registered persons to use their National Tax Number (NTN) issued by Federal Board of Revenue. All that is required is to add alphabet "S" before the NTN, to make it the Sindh Sales Tax Number (SNTN). For example a person having the NTN as "1234567-8" will use S1234567-8 as his SNTN for all matters relating to Sales Tax on Services in Sindh.
New persons can get registration by applying online at eSRB Portal and will receive a temporary registration number instantly. He will however be required to get a National Tax Number to get a permanent SNTN.
E-ENROLLMENT The Registered Persons may get themselves e-Enrolled at eSRB Portal (https://e.srb.gos.pk) and obtain User-ID, Password and PIN code for e-Filing of returns and tax payments. Existing taxpayers e-enrolled at eFBR Portal can transfer their Registration Particulars, through the FBR Portal, for Swift e-Enrolment at SRB. The registered persons desirous of availing Swift e-Enrolment may ensure that their e-Mail address and mobile phone number are up-to-date.
TAX PAYMENTS Sindh Sales Tax on Services can be paid at branches of National Bank of Pakistan which are authorised to collect Sales Tax and Income Tax. A list of all such branches is displayed at SRB and eSRB websites. The taxpayers having bank account in NBP can also pay the sales taxes on services electronically without going to the bank. Those who want to pay at bank counter may prepare the Payment Slip Identification (PSID) at eSRB Portal and present it with the tax amount at bank counter. Facilitation officers will also be available for assistance at NBP branches in preparing and making the tax payment.
e-FOLDER SRB has created an e-Folder for each registered person wherein each and every payment and document e-filed by him is stored electronically. This e-Folder is accessible to the taxpayer as well the respective tax officer. Hence there would be no need of re-sending copies of documents to the tax officers which is very common under the paper based systems.
The Sindh Revenue Board has taken all necessary steps to assist you in the transition of Sales Tax on Services matters pertaing to services being initiated, provided, rendered and consumed as per schedule II of the Sindh Sales Tax Act 2011. We are confident that the interaction would be faster, simpler and more users friendly.
Sindh Revenue Board looks forward to your suggestions and comments and assure the taxpayers that they will receive the attention they deserve. The Sindh Revenue Board thanks you for your contribution towards revenue generation without which the dream of achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) would remain a distant possibility.
