In a special meeting called by Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, President, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has enhanced the prize money of Pakistan Premier League for winning teams and players.
According to a press release issued by PFF, the prize money of the league has been enhanced from Rs 600,000 to Rs 700,000 for winning team, runner up from Rs 400,000 to Rs 500,000, third position holder from Rs 300,000 to Rs 400,000, best player of the league from Rs 100,000 to Rs 150,000, highest scorer of the league Rs 50,000 to 100,000, best goal keeper from Rs 50,000 to 100,000/, best match commissioner from Rs 50,000 to 100,000, best referee from Rs 50,000 to Rs 100,000 and best assistant referee from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000.
Match bonus amount for each match has also been increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000. This gesture will encourage the players to put in their best efforts in the game and bring credit to the nation. The announcement by the president PFF has been welcomed whole heartedly by the participating teams. They feel that increased prize money and incentives will be beneficial for the promotion of the game of football.
