NBP opens branch in Riyadh

National Bank of Pakistan is the largest bank of Pakistan with total capital of $1.496 billion (SAR5.610billion), total asset base of $12billions(SAR45billion) and earned net profit last year of $209million (SAR783.750million. National Bank is among a few banks of Pakistan who are compliant with Basel-II Tier - I Capital requirement of PKR15billion.
National Bank is having total domestic branch network of 1289 with 23 international/overseas branches and representative offices in 4 countries with their 16457 dedicated and committed staffs to cater for their valued customers. National Bank of Pakistan first time contributed and established its network in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in late 1950s which was re-branded as Bank AlJazeera in early 1960s.
In Year 2005, government of Pakistan applied for the license and in response to the same, everlasting friendship and brotherly association between Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & Pakistan is further strengthened when NBP got the license for setting up its branch.
For which the bank as well as the GoP are wholeheartedly obliged and thankful to "His Majesty King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, the custodian of the two holy mosques and Governor Sama "His Excellency Dr Muhammad Bin Sulaiman AlJasser" for giving this opportunity to explore and contribute for almost 1.5 million Pakistani workers who are working in KSA as well as for Pakistan's economy in return.
NBP Riyadh KSA is fully operational and Governor SAMA H E Dr Muhammad Bin Suleiman AlJasser has inaugurated the branch at main King Fahad Road, in front of Kingdom Tower at Riyadh on June 8th 2011. While speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the contribution from Pakistanis in establishment of SAMA. H E Dr Muhammad Bin Suleiman AlJasser specifically paid tribute to Anwar Ali for his devotion, commitment and hardwork in tough period from 1956-78 and shared with the audience that his death while representing KSA at IMF & WB forum showed his commitment for KSA & especially for SAMA.
He also specifically mentioned Isbah ud Din's contribution in establishing SAMA Legal framework and Muhammad Umar Shabaan for his contribution to Islamic Development Bank. He also anticipated that inauguration of the branch raises his expectations from NBP for more contribution in trade & business sector of both countries which in results strengthen both countries long lasting & stronger friendship bond between both brotherly & Islamic countries KSA & Pakistan while strict adherence to SAMA regulatory guidelines.
In his welcome note from Charged D. Commission Ayaz Muhammad Khan reiterated that opening of NBP Riyadh KSA branch will help us in improving our trading partnership between both countries and stressed bank's staff to focus on enhancing remittances through NBP Riyadh KSA which are badly required for the support of our economy.-PR
