'PML-N government allocates Rs 45 billion for public welfare'

Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that government of PML-N increased budget allocation up-to Rs45 billion for the welfare of people of South Punjab in just three years and chief minister allocated more funds for the area in the fiscal year budget as against the population of the region.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of MPAs, here Sunday. Khosa said that the leadership of PML-N is fully committed for providing more resources to South Punjab and every possible step is being taken for the uplift of the people. He said that under the budget of 2008-09, Rs25.75 billion have been earmarked for 11 districts of the area while for next year, Rs70 billion have been allocated. This huge increase in the development budget of the area is a vivid reflection of the commitment of the leadership with the people of South Punjab.
He said that PML-N Chief, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif are taking great interest for the development and progress of under-privileged areas, especially South Punjab. He said that former rulers paralysed socio-economic activities in South Punjab by adopting bogus policies during their dictatorial rule and today, they have become the 'so-called advocates' of South Punjab. He said that government has allocated 32 percent funds of total annual development programme, which is Rs70 billion of the Rs220 billion.
The senior advisor said equal distribution of resources to all areas under an identical system has been ensured in next year budget. He hoped that the provincial budget would help create new employment opportunities, eradication of poverty and lay a foundation of solid progress of a province and no doubt it is a real 'awami' and welfare budget.
