Various commodities' rates fluctuate both ways, significant rise seen in grams prices

The Irri-6 Sindh, grams, yellow peas and dal, peanut, ginger and raw rubber roses during the week ended on June 11, 2011, very much following world trend.
On Monday barley Sindh and Mardan was registered at Rs 2500 and Rs 2600, wheat old with bardana conceded Rs 5 to Rs 2490, while the other type shed same amount to Rs 2505. Irri-6 Sindh gave away Rs 25 to Rs 3525 and Rs 3575. Rapeseed Nawabshah scaled up by Rs 75 to Rs 2300 and Rs 2325, rapeseed Dadulane rose by Rs 150 to Rs 2050 and Rs 2100, rapeseed Mirpurlane up by Rs 175 to Rs 2275 the better quality was marked higher Rs 150 to Rs 2300, rapeseed cakes low type lost Rs 2 to Rs 850 better type lost Rs 15 to Rs 860, til low type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 3500, cottonseed cakes lost Rs 25 to Rs 1325, while the better quality was marked at Rs 1390.
On Jodia Bazaar raw rubber Ceylon (per lb) RSSV rose by Rs 5 to Rs 235, pale crape TPC3 up Rs 5 to Rs 275, latex. Merrytex (28-kg) was quoted at Rs 1400 and Thai (GT) quoted at Rs 1400.
On Tuesday commodity wholesale markets were sluggish and no change was marked. Jodia Bazaar rates were not available.
On Wednesday excessive price fluctuations were marked after several days of wait. On the grain market Irri-6 Sindh rose by Rs 75 to Rs 3600 and Rs 3650. However, maize dropped by Rs 375 to Rs 2375 and Rs 2500, Juwar low type lost Rs 100 to Rs 2300, while the other variety shed Rs 50 to Rs 2400, yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3750 and Rs 3925, yellow peas dal Canada low type gained same amount to Rs 4150, while the better type rose by Rs 75 to Rs 4300, yellow peas Ukraine low type scaled higher by Rs 150 to Rs 3650, while the better type was up Rs 50 to Rs 3825 and yellow peas dal Ukraine low type turned higher by Rs 50 to Rs 4100, while the other type rose by Rs 125 to Rs 4250. Cottonseed cakes with bag low type rose by Rs 15 to Rs 13450, while the other type was up Rs 10 to Rs 1400.
On Jodia Bazaar kirana items (per 40-kg) black pepper Singapore rose by Rs 200 to Rs 20600, small cardamom shed Rs 2000 to Rs 78000, cloves ended higher by Rs 1500 to Rs 35,500, ajwan lost Rs 500 to Rs 5000, ginger from China firmed up gaining Rs 500 to Rs 15000, peanuts rose by Rs 450 to Rs 4600, sago ended higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3250, cuminseed rose by Rs 200 to Rs 10,700, darchini shed Rs 200 to Rs 7000 and coriander seed quoted at Rs 4000.
On Thursday bearish trend was seen on the grain markets where masoor Canada lost by Rs 500 to Rs 5500, masoor dal Canada fell sharply by Rs 1000 to Rs 6500, wheat with old bardana and new bardana rose by Rs 10 to Rs 2500 and Rs 2515. Guwar low type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 5050, while the other quality was unchanged at Rs 2515, cottonseed cakes with bag in Sindh low type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1360 and better type gained Rs 25 to Rs 1425, rapeseed Nawabshah fell to Rs 2225 and Rs 2250, rapeseeds from Dadulane scaled down by Rs 10 to Rs 1900 and Rs 1950.
On Jodia Bazaar chemicals showed both ways movement: (per kg) caustic soda flakes Saudia scaled higher by Rs 8 to Rs 60, sodium sulphate rose by Re 1 to Rs 16, N.J. Taiwan rose by Rs 4 to Rs 252, formic acid from Germany rose by Rs 9 to Rs 120, formic acid Pak rose by Rs 2 to Rs 105, oxalic acid from China went down by Rs 6 to Rs 74, acetic acid (per pound) Taiwan finished firmer by Rs 3 to Rs 99, and Korean acetic acid down by Rs 2 to Rs 90. Hydrogen peroxide. Descon 50 percent went down by Rs 2 to Rs 62 and Sitara conceded Rs 2 to Rs 61.
On Friday not a single change was seen on the wholesale grain and seed market as almost all participants were busy in preparation for Jumma prayers.
On Saturday Grams prices were sharply higher, as buyers were trying to cover needs ahead of Ramazan. Wheat old bardan was quoted lower at Rs 2490-2500 and new type was registered at Rs 2505-2515 and gur low type was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 6500, while the best type retained its overnight level at Rs 7500 in process of trading. Cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type gained Rs 20 to Rs 1380, the best type, however, lost Rs 25 to Rs 1400.
